Permalink 06:33:21 pm by drf, Categories: News , Tags: banking, fail, fraud, its prob our fault, theft, typical

Nothing new really is it :p expect this time not by Russain hackers, but most likly a employee hell bent on flogging the info on to some evil tax collecting agency to screw over some people who happend to misplace there money into another country and then forget to tell the tax collecting agency in the first place :)

HSBC hotlinked BBC image, banks rob us, we take it back 1k at a time! :

HSBC

"About 24,000 clients of HSBC's private banking operation in Switzerland had personal details stolen by a former employee, the company has admitted. In December, HSBC said that just 10 account holders were affected by the theft, which happened three years ago.The information stolen concerns 15,000 accounts that are still active. Another 9,000 accounts have been closed since the theft.HSBC says that it does not think the data can be used to access accounts."

2 things I like in that (1) it happened 3yrs ago & (2) they don't "think" its usefull what they don't know???
