Well it was bound to happen eventually, does this mean as earlier reported some of theose jail break dongles did get sold before Sony in Australia managed to get a temporary injuction against OzModChips or what ever there called. Who knows but heres some info on this thing. Apparently it does not contain the code (BackupManager) that was stolen and being used to do the jail breaking, this dongle allows play of home brew and such but I guess its a stepping stone. It can be made out of generic AVR microcontrollers which is good because you can get them anywhere and then "roll your own" also this time its got a decent name "PSGroove" or "PSGrove" depends where you, which sounds better than "Dongle thingy Sony don't like"

More info :

PSGroove is an open-source reimplementation of the PSJailBreak exploit for AT90USB and related microcontrollers.

The PSGroove for now allows the very same features as the PSJailBreak but without backup manager support, you can also now remove the dongle.

The original PSJailbreak dongle had a patch that would trigger the lv1 panic hypercall if the dongle wasn't in the list of connected devices.

It should work on:

• AT90USB162
• AT90USB646
• AT90USB647
• AT90USB1286
• AT90USB1287
• ATMEGA32U4
• ... and maybe more.
