Had a pile of old hard drives, so decided to grab a pic of a few them using our HD cam (Sanyo Xacti) however I just cant seem to on with it, its not really user friendly, it just does not feel like a cam, its claiming 12 mega pixels, the shutter speed is quite poor too, to me my old 4mp Kodak looks loads better. Video however is a different story it really leaves our old Kodak behind then. So I don't think I will be using this cam alot to be fair, I was going to use it for some high res PCB work, but we will see how it stacks up against the Kodaks macro mode. Good job it was free ;)

You may click for the raw uncompressed versions of the images from the cam, but beware there 4000x3000 & about 4mb each

I have noticed something hardly any of my cameras batteries are holding a charge.

Faulty Hitachi Freeview TV recorder thing, gutted for bits. For some odd reason it wont recognize the hard drive, yet the drive works fine. It's a SATA 500Gb Western Digital drive. Here are some pics taken of whats inside the unit, if that kind of thing gets you off. It's pretty sad state of affairs this things barely 2yrs old and is dead, sure I could attempt to fix it but its worthless anyhow, the drive may prove useful though :)

Recovered a old microwave today, I orig. only wanted the transformer for something else, but decided to gut the thing as it contained many useful parts such as spade clips, micro switches, transformers and a couple of caps. I took some pics in case anyones wondering what the inside of a microwave looks like. Also don't f*ck about in there the capacitor is DEADLY, short it if possible.

Faulty Sanyo microwave no heat output. Found anyhow.

Found a box of 2Mb & 4Mb Atari ST memory upgrade sims left over from when we used to sell the upgrade kits. These are meant for Atari 520 or 1040 STE's not all STF or STFM systems have the 30 pin simm slot and its kind of luck if you have a STF/STFM with the slot (post 1991 STF/STFMs do). However all STE's do. The simms were tested and stored long ago, there are many matching pairs left.
